How to Stop Mobile Advertisement Calls, SMS from Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Tata, BSNL

Today it was too much when I received 12 advertisement sms about “Finding Romance in Life ”. One of the most annoying stuff is the promotional calls and hello tune calls you receive daily in your mobile from your service providers. Here is the way to stop these promotional/offers and advertisement sms calls from Airtel and Vodafone.
How to Stop Advertisement Ads SMS & Calls to your Airtel & Vodafone Mobile
Both Airtel and Vodafone users can sms START DND to 1909 (toll free) to stop these unwanted calls.
Stopping Advertisement Ads SMS & Calls using Airtel and Vodafone websites
- Go to Do not Disturb Page to Stop unwanted calls for Vodafone users. Add your name, email and mobile number to this page and stop all unwanted promotional/offer calls.
- Airtel prepaid and postpaid customers Do not Disturb Page
- Airtel landline Customers use this Page. You need to put in your Airtel land line number, account number and email.
How to Stop Advertisement Calls & SMS on Other Mobiles
- BPL Mobile – Do Not call sign up page
- BSNL Do not Call registration – you need to be registered to use this service.
- Idea Cellular – Post paid users need to be registered to use this service. Prepaid users just need to enter their number to stop unwanted calls.
- MTNL Delhi – A bit lengthy registration form
- MTNL Mumbai – this page speaks for itself.
- Reliance Mobile – Do not call me, I will call you
- Spice Karnataka – Sms START DND to 1909 or call 9844098440 and place a request.
- Spice Punjab
- Aircel Chennai
- Aircel Tamilnadu
- Tata Indicom – sms START DND to 1909, or you can use the My account(for registered users) page for the same to stop promotional calls in your tata indicom mobile.
Finally you can do your work in Peace… after stopping Advertisement Calls & SMS.

Dr Amit Singh : Thanx for the information,but i really doubt that they will stop this. Airtel mobile company is so much involved in cheating to its customer that this is the second time they have done to me.They already deducted their advt. charge making my balance to negative.Still their greediness hasn't ended.This is how these private company prospers themselves.Kam se kam BSNL wale chori to nahi karte.......

JohnMatt : Airtel is no different than all other Indian companies. At the end of the day it boils down to the pathetic Indian mentality of being opportunistic swine. We can only hope this disgusting excuse for a country doesn't create more people who go abroad and disgrace foreign lands with their lack of hygiene and decency.

Shridhar GJ : I have registered with DND service for fully blocking calls/SMS from advertisers. Though unsolicited call have reduced to a large extent, but i still receive bulk SMS especially from Builders/Real Estate dealers, with upto 10-15 SMS daily. Is there a sure shot way to completely get rid of this menance ?

I would like to inform you that calling a country's people "swine" is considered indecent in our country and perhaps in yours.I think you have only met people from Indian origin trying to adopt western culture,and therefore became selfish and greedy as western culture teaches people.However,I dont expect mature comments from you, cause you have already shown your class. Rupin : If you have an Android Phone, there is a very neat product call SieveSMS available on the Android Market.The app allow blocking of promotional SMS by creating rules for SMS's There is also an option to block all promotional messages that have a numeric sender address.The link to the download is http://bit.ly/m72Ql1 or you can search by "SieveSMS" on the Android Market.I have been using this app for quite sometime and the app does a good job of blocking unwanted messages.
amit : well, no luck in this... i've already activated DND in feb or march yet still getting sms related to real estate... i've called several times to Airtel people to stop and all they have to say that your problem will be resolved... but every time i get a msg from Airtel that notification has been sent to those advertiser as those network come from different network or so... after i made complaints no. of msgs increased ridiculously... no solution so far... i wish i could cal personally to those advertiser and scold them... perhaps i'll do it...
