How to Open & Edit .pps Files in PowerPoint ?

Recently I came across a situation where I got a PowerPoint presentation file in .pps format ie, on double click the presentation starts automatically. Well, this was good but I wanted to make some changes to it so I tried to Edit it.

How to Edit .pps Files by Opening them with PowerPoint ?

Generally, document files on right click show the “Edit” Option. But this isn’t so in case of .pps Files. Later After a Bit of Trial & Error & Dragging & Dropping, I found that the best was to open a .pps file is to Rename the .pps File from .pps to .ppt.

Renaming in not possible if your File Extension is not Visible. Go to Tool > Folder Option > Uncheck “Hide Extensions for Known File Types”. See Below.

Now that the File has open in PowerPoint you can make all the necessary changes & stuff.
