Find the Exact Picture you Want for your Project using ‘Similar Images’

If you are doing a school project or a college assignment then finding the right images for your work can be really a tough job.Traditionally you will search for an image in Google using the Google Image search which doesn’t give very good results most of the time.  But you don’t have to worry about it as Google is fixing that problem via a new development from Google Labs: the Similar Images service.

Looking for Visually Similar Images using Google Labs

To start searching for similar images, open the site http://similar-images.googlelabs.com then start with a search query using traditional text search. In the example below I searched for images of “Rocket Launch”.  Like the image search in Google, it returned all significant images matching the search term.

Pick an image that you want to use as a reference.  Click the “similar images” link

All images determined by Google as similar are returned. Note that these images actually resemble each other by what’s physically in the picture.

For me this really is a cool improvement in image searching.  Traditionally you will need to search using strings that don’t guarantee a similar results like above.

Now this is a big help for people who work with Images. In normal Google Image search Pictires are show based on Seo. But Not In case of this. This tool show Pictures & Images based on Visual Similarity.
