Irfan Siddiqui : Wow, Peazip is new for me and i'm excited to download:). Good go "debajyoti"
Brian : AVG is by no means the best free Av. Avast! abd Avria both surpass it. Firefox is not the fastest browser. Google Chrome is. And Foxit is a much better than Adobe Reader considering the security issues.
Debajyoti Das : I agree Brian ... I use Foxit Myself... But You can't fill out PDF Forms with Foxit... People Should have an All in one thing. And I use Firefox 3.5 ... its much better than chorome
Pallab : My list would be significantly differ from yours. It would be : i) Open Office ii) Avira Antivir (seriously, why would you want to use anything else when it has detectionr rate of 99% and fares better than Kaspersky and the rest? and AVG has a much lower detection rate and is heavier) iii) Opera (personal preference) iv) 7ZIp v) Foxit or STDU Viewer vi) The KMPlayer (VLC's default video quality is pretty poor..you need to install ffdshow and then tweak is manually which is quite hard) vii) Irfan View (Picassa is extremely nice, but would be definitely lower in the list. Irfan View allows me to cut, paste, modify and compress pictures instantly)
Richie : Peazip... hmm, I think that 7-zip is a better free alternative.
Tech @ InkAPoint : I agree with Brian. AVG don't even have the ability to detect many viruses than Avira. And you can fill up forms in PDF files with the help of Foxit. For that, we have to download additional plugins from Foxit's website.
Debajyoti Das : @ Riche - Nice Suggestion... I recently Came across 7-Zip. I think its better than pea zip
Karthik Rajathachal : Free Commander is one very good windows explorer.
mayank : use wyzo than firefox.... it's built on da same platform but gives enhanced downloading speed
Debajyoti Das : Nice Idea Mayank..... Will check...
LHammonds : OpenOffice has been taken over by Oracle however, some of the original developers have forked the code and started a new version called LibreOffice. You can also get the "portable" version of LibreOffice and OpenOffice at portableapps.com. I wouldn't recommend Adobe Reader to anyone because of the updater program slipping in additional software. Use Foxit instead (portable version available too). I also recommend 7-Zip over all other archive utilities and it is free for home or work usage. Comodo Internet Security is also a more comprehensive protection suite that is free to use at home or work.
Gunur : I get pleasure from, result in I discovered exactly what I was having a look for. You have ended my 4 day long hunt! God Bless you man. Have a great day. Bye
