How to Remove Shut Down Option on XP Welcome Screen ?
By default, the Microsoft Windows XP logon screen displays a Turn off computer button. This display seems convenient, but sometimes we may require to Remove the Shut Down Option from the Welcome Screen, so that people can’t shut down from the welcome screen.

The thing you can do is to disable the Turn off computer button. You can still shut down your computer; you just have to log on to an account first.
How to Disable Shut Down Button on XP Login Screen
To disable the Turn off computer button on the Welcome screen
1) Log on to your computer as an administrator.
2) Go to Start > Control Panel.
3) Click Administrative Tools.
Note: If you are using Category View (default in XP), then click on Performance and Maintenance option and then click on Administrative Tools.
4) Double-click Local Security Policy. [Tip : How to Hack XP Account Password ]
5) Expand Local Policies by clicking the plus sign next to it, and then click Security Options.
6) In the right pane, double-click the Shutdown: Allow system to be shut down without having to log on policy.
7) Click Disabled, and then click OK.
Click OK to change the policy. Now log off and look at your Welcome screen.
