I have faces this many times where I want to go to a youtube video page to read reactions or comments, get embed code etc. But the annoying thing the youtube video starts loading automatically wasting bandwidth if you don want to watch it.

2 Ways to Disable Youtube AutoPlay Video Loading
1. Disable Automatic Loading of Youtube Videos with Flashblock
An extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading automatically.
It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click and then view the Flash content.

2. Using the StopAutoPlayingAlready Extension
HowtoGeek.com has created an extension for Firefox that will prevent YouTube videos from automatically playing by converting the default player to the embedded one that doesn’t auto-play.
The logic behind the extension comes from the "Youtube Prevent Autoplay Greasemonkey script [Link]". It was actually converted in to an extension.

Once you install the extension, you’ll notice that the videos on YouTube.com now have the play button:

MonsterBuzz! : Good solution! Sometimes we only want to lo load the page, not the video. So before this we have to stop them manually. Thanks for the people who'd invented these solutions.

Johnny Brainetree : We should not have to download an extension to prevent YouTube from auto playing the featured video. I did not realize this problem existed until just created my third channel. This is frustrating and makes me want to quit YouTube altogether. I'm reading that it all depends on which video you are featuring. I just tried one video that did not auto play and all the others do. This is serious. I can't believe that YouTube is sitting there ignoring this very serious problem. It makes the channel unusable and big nuisance instead of being the way it should be. And when I think of all the time that is spent hunting up a simple solution to something that should not be at all. It's just unbelievable.

Bram B : ...one question to all the people who installed the Firefox Extension. Does it besides stopping the video from autoplaying, also buffer the video? This is decision making for me, I do want it to buffer.
