# Configure Touch Sensitivity in Windows

Step 1 : Make Sure the Laptop Touch Pad Driver Application is installed. (the touchpad works even if its not installed). If not install it from the motherboard, software CD/DVD that came along.

Step 2 : After installing it or if already installed locate it from the Windows Start Menu or in the Quick Launch Icon in the System Tray.

Step 3 : It launches the touchpad settings manager. There are many types of mouse settings you can configure. But I will talk only about sensitivity.

Step 4 : Click on the Touch Pad (Tab) and then access Tapping Speed and Touch Sensitivity and edit them according to your preferences. See below. Also enable Tap Off when Typing.

In laymans term, it disables the touchpad automatically when you are typing and enables it back when the typing is stopped.
