Often there is little difference between dongles themselves. The advanced dongles doubles as a memory device which allow users to store data as well just like as in a usb memory stick.
Choosing the Right USB Internet Dongle for Your Laptop
If you intend to use mobile internet via usb dongles, you must know the parameters and options, tariff plans etc before deciding which dongle and what package to go with. The research to do before choosing mainly based on two facts. One is the coverage in the area you want to get mostly online while travelling and the other is the type of data plan and tariff that suits your budget.
Coverage : The mobile internet and 3G networks currently covers over large areas. Accessing internet won’t be a problem but if you happen to live in areas not covered and the strength of the mobile network in your area is weak, then one should think properly before taking a decision about which service to choose.
Data Plans, Tariff : The amount of data you will use on your dongle depends largely on the type of Internet use is involved in. If you really just check your e-mail and surf the net, then its use will be much less than someone who transmits streaming video and downloading music. At first go for a smaller cheaper pay as you go dongle plan. You can always upgrade to better plans later, this way you dont have to waste money on expensive plan for higher data usage which you may not need.
