I agree there should be a setting in Chrome, however, until the setting becomes available, editing the ‘Preferences’ file may provide some relief… I tried this myself, and it works.

Using text editor to open "Documents and SettingsUser_NameLocal SettingsApplication DataGoogleChromeUser DataDefaultPreferences". Look for the section of code that looks like the following example (if its not in the file, try adding it yourself)
