John : The settings mentioned above don't work any more for either temporary or permanent. It used to work before, but now you don't have the options to turn image safesearch to OFF or Moderate, it always stay on STRICT even if you try to permanently disable it in the Search Preference setting. I even trie to clear all the cookies and internet temporay files, but it's still not working. I don't know if it resides within the updated IE8 or recent Windows add-ons or updates. Anyway, Google should not let any other software or anyone else permanently set Safesearch to STRICT without the user's consent. This is really annoying.
Debajyoti Das : @John: Its working Fine... Plz follow the steps.
John : Sorry, those steps used to work for IE7 but don't work any more in IE8 or 9. After I updated from IE7 to IE8, the image safesearch suddently stay on STRICT all the times and won't let me change to any other settings (i.e., Moderate and OFF are gray out). It doesn't matter even if you try to permanently set it in the Preference Setting, it has not effect. I don't know if it's within Google, IE, or Windows, but suddently it just didn't work. It sucks.
Debajyoti Das : @John: IE has lot of issues with everything... Sucks... I use Firefox.
