Enable Windows Media Player Minimize to Taskbar Tray Option in 7, Vista
If you are WMP fanboy like me (because of it awesome auto playlist features) then you must like the minimize to taskbar option in xp. But after you switched to Vista or Windows 7 that option is disabled. But you can get it back and use the very useful Minimize to Taskbar option in windows 7 or vista.

Get Back WMP 12 Minimize to Taskbar Toolbar Option in Windows 7, Vista
Follow the steps below carefully to get back Minimize to Taskbar option.
Step 1 : Download this support wmpband.dll file, Click Here.
Step 2 : Copy this file to C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player folder.

Step 3 : Press
+ R from keyboard and type in services.msc and click OK to open windows services. (You can also use Start > search Services)

Step 4 : Scroll down to find locate Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service and right click and Stop it if its not.

Step 5 : Now, Open the Command Prompt as administrator (Start > Search cmd > Right click Run As Administrator) and execute the following command:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmpband.dll"
Wait to see the success message. That does it.

Lastly to test it, open windows media player and minimize it. Then right click on taskbar and use Toolbars > Windows Media Player and see if it works.


Hope it works for you and use this very useful feature back in windows media player.
