How Increase Virtual memory on your PC in XP & Vista

Go to : Control Panel > System > Advanced > Click on Settings (Under Performance) > Advanced > Change

Here under Drive (Volume label), you have the option to select any of your hard disk drives, but the best choice is to select any drive other than C drive for virtual memory.

Set the double Initial Maximum Size of your Virtual Memory. Here set initial size 700 MB and maximum size up to 1000MB. You can change this size according to the free space available on your hard drive.

Adil : HI! I hav 256MB RAM and wen i chekd it, my paging file size was already set to 192-386 and it is recommended to keep it 379MB! please tell me a good range to keep. Actually i want to play GTA San Andreas on my PC... I havnt tested it yet that it will work or not but... please tell me the maxxxxximum range i can set on 256 MB RAM!!! thankyou... waiting for ur reply!!!

Debajyoti Das : @Adil: I played GTA SA on my pc.. 256mb, no graphics card... 2 yrs back. To make it run smoother, set resolution to 640x480. Paging File helps... increase both min an max to 1000mb
