Just a few while ago Google has unveiled a new social networking site called BUZZ and its quite clear from their message that buzz is trying to take on Facebook and Twitter with this new network site.

The new features are built directly into Google’s free email service Gmail. Users can post private or public status updates and share content from other sites such as Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and Picasa. Private updates are automatically added to a user’s profile page, whilst public updates will also be available to search engines.

Status updates sent from phones will record the location of the sender and add it to the message. It also supported in mobile platforms. Google thinks it can build a competitive advantage in social media by focusing on relevancy and ranking within a social network.
