Google Showing Realtime Recent Tweets in Search Results

Posted in Google, Google

After writing about Google.com/dictionary. Yesterday while searching for some stuff I came across a search result in google (see below).

Google Showing Realtime Recent Tweets in Search Results

Its showing the recent tweets from the makeuseof twitter account. Even better it is realtime. That’s why its showing a pause button I guess.

Could this be another new update (like google’s accessible search for the blind) or just a testing…. As I didn’t see these type of search results for any Twitter celebs etc.

During the past few weeks and months, there has been a lot of discussion about whether Twitter’s "real time search" could pose a threat to Google. Seems it may be the reason for this update I guess.

Tip : There is also a greasemonkey userscript (Link) for firefox to show real-time search results from Twitter on Google search pages. Also if you are a google chrome user, read about the useful twitter extension for chrome.

What do you think….??
