Here are 2 Easy Steps to Extract Picture from Word Files

Save Extract Pictures from a Word File Method 1 : Here’s the easiest way to extract images from a Word document. With this tip, you can also get the images in their original dimensions i.e the file size, height, width, quality etc before it was inserted into the Word document.

  • Open up the Word document.
  • Go to File > Save As Web Page.
  • This opens the Save As box.
  • Select “Web Page” in the ‘Save as Type’ drop down list.
  • Click Save

A new folder is created in the same directory with a name that ends with _files. The images are saved to this folder.

Second Method : There is one more way to get rip images from Word documents, but you may not get the pictures in their original dimensions with this one. You must have Active Desktop enabled for this method.

  • Open the Word file.
  • Drag the picture from the Word file to the desktop. This opens a confirmation box that prompts you to save the picture.
  • Click Yes.
  • A Save As box is displayed. Hit the Save button. The image is now saved to your desktop.
  • A final box is shown that asks you to add the Active Desktop item to the desktop. Click No.

I think the first method is easier. It gives you all the images in a document at one go; plus it can retain the quality of the original image.
