Post title, post slug and SEO plugin title should be different and meaningful in their own way. Duplicating these above fields (having one title everywhere) will kill your SEO values.

Oh my bad… I didn’t notice that guest post thing :O

Yes, having a customized post title (for blog post) is absolutely fine and it shows the creativeness and freshness of the author’s mind. However, the post title that we use in SEO plugin’s title field, appears in search results as the post title. So, we need to make it more SEO rich, else search engines won’t mind to push the post to some 3rd-4th page.

Lets say, I am writing a post on “splitting videos”. In this case, the SEO post title as “How to split a video file?” should work much better than “Split and make two videos out of one”. Just my 2 cents…

I love the Google Keyword Tool, but I am all for anything that makes it less complicated. Even if you are looking to optimize for SEO, time is definitely money. This is the best way to get the keywords in the URL of your post and then correspond with the title.
